Why this exists

Sponsorship is the
invisible filter.

The hidden 80 percent

Most job listings on US job boards do not mention sponsorship at all. International students apply to hundreds of roles, only to learn at the screening stage that the employer doesn't hire on OPT or H1B. The information exists in public filings — it just isn't surfaced where you're searching.

The board-by-board tax

F1 and STEM OPT job seekers don't search one board. They search four — LinkedIn for breadth, Indeed for volume, Dice for tech roles, Glassdoor for company reputation. Re-checking sponsorship for every employer across every board is a second job.

What GlanceJobs does

The extension reads the company name on whatever page you're viewing and labels it OPT or NON-OPT in real time, against a database built from H1B filings, LCA disclosures, and E-Verify records. No accounts, no extra clicks, no leaving the job board.

Who it's for

Built for F1 and
STEM OPT students.

OPT is the single most important window in an international student's career — twelve months of work authorization after graduation, plus a twenty-four month STEM extension for eligible majors. Spending it on unsponsored applications is the most expensive mistake you can make.

GlanceJobs was built by people who lived through this. It exists to give that time back.

  • F1 OPT students looking for OPT-friendly employers in their first post-grad role.
  • STEM OPT students filtering for E-Verify enrolled employers eligible for the 24-month extension.
  • Career switchers on OPT moving from internships into full-time sponsorship-track roles.
  • International graduate students targeting cap-exempt employers (universities, research institutions, nonprofits).
  • Anyone tired of opening every company's careers page just to confirm whether they sponsor.

Zero accounts. Zero tracking.

The extension reads only the company name from the page you're viewing and checks it against our database in real time. We don't track searches, profiles, or browsing history.

"We only retrieve company names to check against our database — the extension works quietly in the background, on every supported job board."
Frequently asked

OPT job search,
answered.

Which job boards does GlanceJobs support?

GlanceJobs works on LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice, and Glassdoor. The same OPT and NON-OPT badges appear automatically on job listings and company pages across all four boards. If you use a different board, let us know — we add platforms based on student demand.

Is GlanceJobs free for F1 and STEM OPT students?

Yes. The OPT extension is completely free, with no account required. We built it specifically for international students navigating the US job market on F1 OPT and STEM OPT visas, and we intend to keep the core OPT checker free forever.

How does the extension identify OPT-friendly companies?

We maintain a database of employers based on historical H1B and OPT filings, E-Verify enrollment, and visa sponsorship history. When you browse a job board, the extension reads the company name from the page and checks it against our database in real time, then injects an OPT or NON-OPT label next to the listing.

Does it work for the STEM OPT 24-month extension?

Yes. The OPT badge surfaces employers that hire OPT workers in general, which covers both standard 12-month OPT and the STEM OPT 24-month extension. STEM OPT additionally requires E-Verify enrollment, which we track as part of the sponsorship profile.

Does GlanceJobs collect my personal data?

No. The extension only reads company names from the page you're viewing to check against our database. We don't track your searches, your profile, your browsing history, or anything else. The full data practices are documented in our extension privacy policy.

How often is the sponsorship data updated?

Our database is refreshed regularly from public USCIS H1B filings, LCA disclosure data, and E-Verify records. We re-process new filings as they become available, so the badges reflect the most recent sponsorship activity for each employer.

What's the difference between OPT, STEM OPT, and CPT for job searching?

OPT (Optional Practical Training) is a 12-month work authorization for F1 students after graduation. STEM OPT is a 24-month extension for STEM-degree holders and requires an E-Verify employer. CPT (Curricular Practical Training) is for work during your studies. GlanceJobs focuses on identifying employers that hire on OPT and STEM OPT, which are the dominant post-graduation paths.
